I hope that this email finds you all well, and staying safe during these strange times.
These extraordinary circumstances will provide you with many opportunities and it is up to you to choose to be a responsible student. You will be in control of your learning; YOU get to control the pace at which you work through material, YOU get to decide how much time to spend on every class every day, YOU get to choose which learning resources you want to utilize, YOU get to decide what works best for you. But with great responsibility comes great obligation; you will need to be self-motivated, you will have to be honest with yourself, you will need to reflect on your learning and habits, you will have to reach out for help when you need it, and you will get to choose the learning opportunities that work best for you.
What you should be doing:
· Check your email daily
· Check your class websites daily
· Email any missing assignments to the appropriate teacher, especially if you want to improve your grade in a class (feel free to cc Mr. Stevens or myself)
· Select activities or assignments to complete
o You should complete at least one activity for each class a week (ideally more than one)
o Spend more time working on materials for classes that you would like to improve your grade in
· Check Skyward frequently (some teachers will choose to post assignments or updates on Skyward)
Last, but certainly not least, if you are aware of any Issaquah School District student that does not have access to a computer or reliable internet at home please let me know, so that we can facilitate providing access to that student.
This situation is unprecedented, and less than ideal in many ways. A positive aspect is that you, as students, have been given the gift of time to catch up on school work, or to work ahead to avoid falling behind.
Let’s make it our goal to come back to school with no missing assignments, so that we can finish the school year strong!
With a little effort, we can make this happen!
Please do not hesitate to reach out to me for anything you might need support with.
